10th Anniversary Open House Success

A Place to Grow celebrated our 10th Anniversary on January 27, 2006 with an Open House.  Many families from as far back as 1996 stopped in for a visit and it appeared a good time was had by all.  The children enjoyed an assortment of activities like cupcake decorating, bookmark making, face painting, Valentine collage, and tattoos.   Everyone took a trip down memory lane looking through all the photographs that Jindy, our Infant Room ECE, so beautifully had displayed throughout the Annex walls.

Thank you to everyone who attended, making it a special day for us.  APTG staff enjoyed seeing you all and the children looking so grown up.  Many children reconnected with their friends from Daycare.  A special treat was seeing one of the first children to attend our Preschool room, who is now 14 years old.   It was great hearing all the stories from current and past children.  We had a special visit from Sue Hammell, the MLA for Surrey-Green Timbers, and our Director Danielle Jimeno, took her on a tour of our Centre.

A special thanks to the volunteers from Queen Elizabeth Highschool who helped us set up and take down all the tables and chairs as well as monitor the children’s fun activities.  Also, a big thank you to our staff who helped throughout the day to make it such a success.

We look forward to celebrating again in another 10 years.
